Friday May 11th Results OPENING NIGHT WENT REALLY WELL. WITH THE TRACK STARTING OUT PRETTY GREEN IT FINALLY CAME AROUND AFTER ABOUT 3 SOLID ROUNDS OF PRACTICE, WE DECIDED TO PUT TOGETHER A BOX AND NO BOX RACE FOR THE CARS THAT CAME OUT AND THERE WERE NO DISAPPOINTMENTS AS THE HUNTER BROTHERS KEITH AND KEVIN MET IN THE BOX FINAL WITH KEITH TAKING THE WIN, JOE ROBERTSON AND BOB SCRUGGS BATTLED IN THE NO BOX FINAL, WITH SCRUGGS TAKING THE WIN BY A SLIM .0001 COME OUT AND JOIN US FOR OUR 1ST REGULAR SEASON EVENT WITH SUPER PRO PRO AND SPORTSMAN RACING ACTION WITH GURANTEED PURSES IN EVERY CLASS. THERE WERE LOTS OF PRAISE GIVEN TO THE NEW HOPE STAFF FOR ALL THE TRACK IMPROVEMENTS THAT WERE DONE THIS OFF SEASON, COME OUT AND SEE THEM FOR YOURSELF, ALSO COME OUT AND HEAR THE BIG ANNOUNCEMENT WE HAVE IN STORE FOR NEW HOPE DRAGSTRIP, IF YOU HAVE ANY HISTORY WITH NEW HOPE YOU WONT WANT TO MISS THIS. Friday May 18th Results What a great night for racing, perfect air and near perfect track conditions. Quoting one racer saying Man the track was hooking like a bear tonight. Friday nights race was action packed with familiar sights in Super Pro with another all brother final as Keith and Kevin Hunter battled it out, Kevin throwing down a .503 reaction to beat Keith’s .504 which was good enough for the win. For the second week in a row an all Hunter final with the brothers splitting the two races Keith winning in week 1 and Kevin winning week 2. In Pro action we had a great time with Chad Isley coming all the way from Illinois to join in on the fun making it all the way to the final on his Hondamatic Motorcycle, Chad tore the tree down all night, not having reaction time any slower than a .535, however in the final he would meet up with Charles Burton with Burton taking the win light on Friday night. In Sportsman Class racing action we would again see the Hondamatic of Chad Isley this time he cut the tree down to quick as he went red and gave the win to Nick Harlin. What a great way to cap off a special night with the announcement of New Hope Dragstrip once again becoming SPEEDS. Congrats to all of you! Friday June 1st Results Friday night featured our 2nd points race of the Season and racers second opportunity to get their 4 entries in to qualify for the "BIG BUCKS EXTRAVAGANZA" taking place on August 17th. After getting a breif rain shower after the track was fully prepped we got started a bit late but with the patience of the racers and fans we put on a great show. With the best crowd of the year we finally got started racing, With a full moon out we knew we were in for a long night as 4 racers had the misfortune of losing a motor or a transmission and taking the track surface with them. Eventually we did get to race and the track came back around (kinda). In Super Pro action we had Danny Stout taking the win over Keith Hunter. In Pro Action Luke Sexton took the win light over Dennis Breeden and in Sportsman Class Joe Robertson doing the driving for Brian Featherston took the win over Don Curts. Friday June 15th Results With temps in the 90’s Speeds New Hope Dragstrip once again had its biggest crowd of the year, with some old friends coming out to join us and familiar faces coming out as well, we had a packed house of spectators as well as racers we were ready to get started racing. In the Pepsi Cola Pro Class we had Rob Robinson taking the win over Kelly Reynolds in the final with Jason Tabscott being the lone semifinalist. The Pepsi Cola Sportsman Class brought Bill Hamstra to the winners circle taking the win over Kelly Lanham with Gary Dobson being the lone semifinalist, and in the Pepsi Cola Super Pro Class Mark Mahan took top honors taking the win over Bill Young with Chris Little and Ryan Russ making it to the semis. Don’t forget about the BIG BUCKS EXTRAVAGANZA taking place on August 17th only 4 entries qualifies you for the race. See everyone again on June 29th for out next featured event. Friday June 29th Results Well any questions were answered Friday night about shut down room as we had the full bodied Chevy Nova of Bob Bennet run a 5.49 and Bobby Scott in his Dragster run a 5.19 in a dragster neither driver needing all the shut down we have added this past off season. We had yet again our largest crowd of the season in all Classes with a great Super Pro Sportsman, and Pro field the pits were packed with race cars Friday night with lots of spectators there to witness the non stop action. In Pro Class Chris Walters took home the win over Joe Robertson, while Scotty Weaver took home the Sportsman Final over Bill McCarty, and in Super Pro yet another all Hunter Final with Kevin taking the win over Keith. Friday July 20th Results What a great night for racing great weather and the track was hooking with people posting their best runs of the year and the house was packed with spectators and racers. The fastest pass made Friday night belonging to Bobby Scott in his dragster, he went a 5.130. In our Sportsman Division Rick Atchley Jr. took the win over Joshua Criss, Super Pro saw a familiar site with Keith Hunter taking the win and stretching his points lead, he defeated Matt Volrath, and a BIG CONGRATS goes out to Anthony Deckard and Crew for recording their first ever Pro Class win Friday night defeating Rob Robinson in the Final. We will be closed this Friday July 27th, but will follow up with being open the next four Fridays, which includes The Big Bucks Extravaganza on August 17th. See you all in 2 weeks!!! Friday August 10th Results IT WAS A GREAT NIGHT FOR RACING AS WE HAD ANOTHER GREAT CROWD OF RACERS AND FANS, WITH THE THOUGHT OF THE $14,000 IN ALL THE RACERS HEADS WE BROUGHT OUT A BRIEF CASE TO SHOW THE RACERS WHAT $14,000 IN CASH LOOKED LIKE, A BRIEF CASE FILLED WITH $14,000 IN 10 DOLLAR BILLS WAS DISPLAYED THRU THE NIGHT. WITH OVER 60 RACERS QUALIFIED FOR THE BIG BUCKS EXTRAVAGANZA IT SHOULD BE A VERY COMPETITIVE NIGHT NEXT FRIDAY, BE SURE AND SPREAD THE WORD AND COME CHECK OUT THE RACE WHICH WILL FEATURE LOTS OF PRIZES FOR THE KIDS AND JOHN PHILLIPS OF THE OSCA WILL COME TO MAKE A FEW 4 SECOND BLASTS DOWN THE TRACK IN HIS CAMARO. ON TO THE NIGHTS RACING ACTION IN THE PEPSI COLA SPORTSMAN CLASS DON CURTS TOOK THE WIN OVER JON O'CONNOR IN THE FINAL. IN THE PEPSI COLA PRO CLASS IT WAS ERIC BOWLING TAKING THE WIN LIGHT OVER AMY CAIN IN THE FINAL WITH CHAD GUFFEY BEING THE LONE SEMI FINALIST. IN THE PEPSI COLA SUPER PRO CLASS IT WAS KEVIN HUNTER TAKING THE WIN OVER RYAN RUSS WITH ERIC BOWLING AND DAVID WALLEN MAKING IT TO THE SEMIS. Friday September 21st Results What a night for racing it turned out to be after a long layoff due to weather and scheduled off nights we finally got a chance to go racing again. What a night Chad Isley had as he was TRIPLE Entered riding his Hondamatic motorcycle all the way to the Semis in both Pro and Sportsman Classes and then taking his good looking Chevy II to the finals of Super Pro taking the win over Keith Hunter. In Pro Class Dave Wallen would take the win over Joe Robertson and in Sportsman Class it was Bill Hamstra taking the win over Bob Scruggs. A big congrats goes out to our Pepsi Cola Points Series Champions. See everyone Friday!!
