BIG BUCKS RESULTS 9-30-2011
First of all the Speed's Staff would like to thank each and
everyone that showed up to support this years Big Bucks
Race. With over 100 entries you the racers and spectators
made this annual event a success!
Sportsman class was very highly contested as the lanes were
full and in the end the final 4 entries would belong to Austin
Tewell, Mike Malley and Eric Bowling with 2 entries. In the
First of the 2 semi finals runs Tewell would break Bowling out
taking the win and advancing to the final. In the second of the
Semi Finals Bowling would take the win with Malley breaking
out advancing Bowling to the finals against Tewell. In the Final
Eric Bowling would get the starting line advantage and take the
double breakout win to take home the $1000 top prize.
In the Main Event of the Night being the No Box class $2000
was up for grabs with the staging lanes full of racers from all
over the state and some from out of state. Even Pro Racer
Brad Plourd decided to roll in the Gates of Speed's at a shot at
the $2000. As the night progressed and at around 4am the
Main Event was finally down to the semi finals finding Dave
Wallen who was on fire at the starting line all night long with a
string of .00 lights and dead on runs he found himself with 2 of
the 4 entries left in the race. Along side Wallen was Mike Smith
and the nights Sportsman Class Winner Eric Bowling. In the
first Semi Final it would be Wallen and Bowling paired up.
Bowling and Wallen were dead even at the starting line posting
.520 reaction times but Wallen would go to fast breaking out
as Bowling would run Dead on his dial with a 0 to advance to
his 2nd final of the night. In the second semi final it would be
Wallen again taking on Mike Smith. Mike Smith would end up
taking the win in that round advancing to the final to face off
against Bowling. In the Final Bowling would get the starting line
advantage and take the win and the $2000 top prize for the
second time of the evening.
